Partner Agencies

With assistance of our partner agencies, the Charles E. Lakin Human Services Campus is able to aid those in the community who would otherwise be in great need. We cannot do it ourselves; below are some of the additional organizations, located on campus, that help us with our mission.

Connections Area on Aging

Connections Area Agency on Aging is one of a nationwide network of over 650 Area Agencies on Aging. Area Agencies on Aging were established in 1973 following the enactment of the Older Americans Act signed by Lyndon B. Johnson in 1965. They were designed to respond to the needs of Americans age 60 and over in every community, throughout the United States.

Head Start

Head Start promotes the school readiness of young children from low-income families through agencies in their local community. Head Start and Early Head Start programs support the comprehensive development of children from birth to age 5, in centers, child care partner locations, and in their own homes. Head Start services include early learning, health, and family well-being.

Trailblazers

Trailblazers was established in 2000 and now serves over 300 children and their families, throughout the Council Bluffs area. The Trailblazers Youth Program has been providing academic support, healthy relationships, mentoring, healthy competition, counseling, cultural enrichment, tutoring, and physical activity to its participants. At our “Adventures” we present to the children a vision of hope for their future, working with the children and their families to encourage them, while celebrating the positive changes in their lives. We build positive relationships Onex One, reaching them with a balance of sincere love and biblical guidance that can be practically applied to their life. We consistently encourage and show the children and families that they matter and that God has a plan and purpose for their lives.
